Season 2 of CVC’s Coalition Corner podcast is now available, and it’s already making an impression with listeners across the region. Building on the momentum of its debut, the second season continues to amplify voices from across the Caribbean, diving deep into the crucial conversations that matter most to our communities.
“We’re excited that the series has returned, and we’re diving right into some critical and often under-discussed topics,” said CVC’s Communications Consultant and podcast co-host Kaneal Gayle. “From the intersection of HIV and aging to how young people navigate their sexual and reproductive health and rights in a complicated Caribbean context, we’re bringing real stories and expert insights to the forefront. It’s about ensuring the voices of those most impacted by these issues are heard.”
One of the key episodes in this season shines light on the transformative power of culture through music, storytelling, and tradition. This episode of the podcast demonstrates how cultural expressions can play a vital role in challenging stigma and shifting perspectives on topics like HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
“Culture has always been an integral part of how we communicate and advocate in the Caribbean,” said Ivan Cruickshank, CVC Executive Director and co-host of the podcast. “By highlighting cultural practices, we can break down barriers of stigma and misinformation, especially around issues like HIV. This season, we’re dedicating an episode to exploring how cultural expressions such as to art, music, and tradition can spark change and open minds.”

Season 2 also addresses the pressing issue of funding cuts impacting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the region. This episode dives into how these cuts threaten the sustainability of essential services that support human rights work and provide critical resources to marginalized communities.
“The impact of these funding cuts is real,” Ivan emphasized. “Civil society plays a vital role in advancing human rights, providing healthcare, and ensuring that marginalized communities have access to necessary services. The sustainability of these organizations is now at risk, and we need to raise awareness and rally support to safeguard these services,” he added.
As the series continues to unfold, Coalition Corner remains dedicated to creating a space for open, honest dialogue and fostering community-led solutions. “The podcast is a platform where we tackle tough issues, but we do so with transparency and a commitment to accuracy,” Kaneal pointed out. “In these times of misinformation and stigma, it’s crucial that we offer reliable, engaging, and accessible conversations.”
The first episodes of Coalition Corner Season 2 are already available on all major streaming platforms and across CVC’s social media pages.
“The conversations have already started, and we invite everyone to tune in, share, and be part of the movement,” Ivan concluded. “These discussions are shaping the future of our region, and we need as many people as possible to join in.”
