The Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition (CVC) is welcoming the appointment of Dr. Rosmond Adams as the new Director of the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP).
In welcoming Dr. Adams’ appointment, CVC Executive Director Ivan Cruickshank noted that Dr. Adams brings a wealth of experience to the post, which will benefit the regional HIV response. “CVC congratulates Dr. Adams on his appointment as PANCAP Executive Director. We’re confident that not only PANCAP but the overall regional HIV response will benefit tremendously from his expertise and wealth of knowledge,” said Cruickshank.
Dr. Adams has worked at various levels in the health sector as a Public Health Specialist for over a decade most recently serving as the Head of Health Information, Communicable Diseases and Emergency Response at the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA). Dr. Adams officially takes over the leadership at PANCAP on March 2, 2020. “CVC is looking forward to continuing our close working relationship with PANCAP under Dr. Adams’ leadership. Through our partnership over the years we’ve been able to make a difference in the lives of key population groups and we’re looking forward to building on this foundation,” said Cruickshank.
Meanwhile the CVC Executive Director also took the opportunity to wish outgoing PANCAP Director Dereck Springer all the best on his future endeavours. He said “Mr. Springer has contributed tremendously to the advancements we’ve made in the regional HIV response over the past years. CVC has had a fruitful and productive relationship with him as we worked together to tackle some of the most pressing issues affecting the regional response and ensure the full inclusion of civil society. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this new phase of his life”.
